Marc & Annick, OBUT ambassadors on the roads of France

A Duo at the Heart of the OBUT Brand

For several years, Marc and Annick travelled across France in the OBUT truck. Their mission? To meet pétanque enthusiasts—at clubs, in villages, and at major events.
Marc and Annick Civard embody an essential part of OBUT’s story: the direct connection with pétanque lovers. A unique adventure—Marc behind the wheel, Annick by his side—proudly carrying the brand from the workshop to the pétanque courts.

From the Workshop to the Open Road: A Calling Revealed

Marc joined OBUT in January 1974. He began his journey in the heart of the workshop, where pétanque boules are born. He quickly explored every station—chamfering, welding, assembly… He went through every stage, learning each gesture, each detail. “I didn’t plan to stay that long, but I felt good there,” he says simply.
Deep down, though, he had always been drawn to sales. “I’ve always loved talking to people. The contact, the exchange—that’s what I enjoy,” he explains. So when the opportunity to launch and run OBUT’s mobile shop came along, it just felt right. He didn’t take it on by chance, but with genuine desire—driven by the feeling that he was exactly where he belonged.
In 2005, the story took a new turn: Marc stepped aboard the OBUT truck. Since then, he’s been travelling across France, from one tournament to another, forging connections, telling OBUT’s story, and lighting up the eyes of pétanque players.

An Adventure That Simply Rolled On

An Adventure That Simply Rolled On

"It was a real blessing for me," says Marc, his voice trembling. The day he took the keys to the OBUT truck marked the start of a truly special journey. Very quickly, his wife Annick joined him for the sales—and together, they became a close-knit, passionate, and efficient team.
Their mission? To travel the roads of France, from one tournament to another, as close as possible to pétanque lovers. The truck became much more than a mobile shop: it was a meeting point, a space for conversation, a symbol of connection. “We were part of something that rolled,” Marc says. And he doesn’t just mean the engine—he’s talking about a human adventure, natural, fluid, and full of meaning. A shared journey, set to the rhythm of the road and warm smiles.

OBUT Weekends: A Life Set to the Rhythm of Tournaments

Annick remembers the start of each season as if it were yesterday. “We’d start in January with Cholet, then La Roche... then came Sète, the PPF… and from May on, it really took off again,” she recalls. From May to September, the pace intensified.
Their routine? Come home just long enough to refuel, load the truck, and hit the road again. An intense rhythm, lived with passion. Over the years, a true bond grew with organisers, volunteers, and players. Beyond the sales, it was a human connection: expected smiles, shared moments, a familiar presence on the pétanque courts. A life without pause—but filled with memories that last forever.
