Michel, the common thread connecting machines, teams… and people

Obut’s Electric Power

Now newly retired, Michel spent many years watching over a vital energy that constantly flows through the workshop: electricity.
In the workshop, there’s the rhythm of the machines, the precision of every move, the shaping of metal… And behind it all, one energy made it all work, and Michel was its guardian.
As electrical installations technician and expert, Michel was one of those team members whose contribution isn’t measured in tasks, but in continuity, reliability, and peace of mind for everyone.

A complex craft, a sense of detail that makes all the difference

Michel’s role went far beyond simple troubleshooting. His daily work included:

  • installing, inspecting, and commissioning complex electrical equipment,
  • reading plans and identifying the source of faults,
  • diagnosing issues before they became problems,
  • wiring electrical cabinets and networks,
  • working closely with production teams, IT, and external providers.

Every machine, every control system, every part of the site’s electrical network had, at some point, been in his expert hands.

A key role in the evolution of our machinery

Obut’s workshops evolved over time, and so did the technologies. Michel was at the heart of these transformations. He studied, planned, developed, coordinated, tested, improved.
So many technical projects that helped shape the machine fleet as it stands today.

Passing it on: preparing the future by training young talents

When Michel realized his journey at Obut was nearing its final stage, he naturally took on an even more valuable role: that of a knowledge sharer.

Two young technicians joined the team to carry the torch. And Michel chose to give them what mattered most: his experience, his methods, his high standards, and his vision of the craft.

Today…

Michel is now enjoying a new chapter in life. But in the workshops, something lives on.
The machines still resonate with his expertise, the installations bear his mark, and above all, two young technicians move forward, thanks to everything he passed on to them.

A video to keep his energy with us

A video filmed with him captures his passion, his precision, and the almost intimate bond he had with the machines and the teams. A precious memory for everyone who worked by his side.
