A renowned competitor and coach of Obut pétanque training sessions, he shares what he loves most about the sport: connection, precision, and passing on valuable know-how.

A true competitor at heart, Philippe Duchein has built an impressive record over the years. Departmental champion in all categories, three-time Midi-Pyrénées champion, winner of over 50 national tournaments, 26 qualifications for the French Championships, quarter-finalist then semi-finalist at La Marseillaise, 2023 Mixed Triples Champion, 2024–2025 Occitanie League Mixed Triples Champion, 2025 Doubles Champion, and most recently, 2025 French Mixed Triples Champion.
Each title reflects the strength of his commitment and the consistency of his journey. These achievements are more than just lines on a record, they are the proof of a passion lived intensely on the field.

Philippe has always stepped onto the field with the determination of a true competitor. Every game is an adventure, every victory a source of pride, every defeat a lesson. At the same time, Philippe leads Obut pétanque training sessions, where he finds another kind of competition: watching his trainees improve. Respected coach and educator
Philippe is not just a champion, he is also a remarkable instructor who has chosen to share his experience with others. As an educator, founder of the Obut training courses, and creator of Obut’s shooting initiation and advanced workshops, he has already trained over 4,000 people. For him, sharing knowledge is just as important as performance. Each participant leaves not only with more precise movements, but above all with renewed confidence and a strong desire to improve.
